Privacy
Page: causisresearch.com/privacy. Last updated: 25 September 2026.
The short version
We collect as little as we can. The Site has no accounts, no tracking pixels and no advertising. If you email us, we keep the email. If you use a demo, we may keep what you typed into it so we can improve it. That is most of it. The rest of this page says the same thing in the detail the law asks for.
1. Who is responsible
Causis Research Inc., a Delaware corporation, is the controller of personal data collected through causisresearch.com and its subdomains (the “Site”). Contact: hello@causisresearch.com. We do not have an EU representative or a data protection officer; we are below the thresholds that require them.
Anna (annaos.ai) has its own privacy policy.
2. What we collect and why
Site visits. Our hosting provider records standard server logs: IP address, browser type, pages requested, referring page, time of request. We use these to keep the Site running and to see roughly how many people read what. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating the Site. Kept for 30 days.
Analytics. We count page views with privacy-friendly analytics that set no cookies and do not identify you. We do not use Google Analytics or any advertising tracker. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
Email. If you write to hello@causisresearch.com or to a personal address at our domain, we keep your name, email address and the message for as long as the conversation is useful, normally up to two years. Legal basis: legitimate interest in answering you, or the steps needed before entering a contract with you.
Demos. When you use a public demo such as the quantum computing forecast, we may store the inputs you enter, the outputs you receive and your IP address. We use them to fix bugs, measure how the model behaves and improve it. Do not enter personal data about yourself or others into a demo. Legal basis: legitimate interest in improving our research. Kept for up to 12 months, then deleted or anonymised.
Mailing list or waitlist. If we offer one and you sign up, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the link in every email.
Investors, partners and job applicants. If you contact us in one of these roles we keep the material you send (CV, deck, documents) for the duration of the discussion and for up to 24 months after. Legal basis: steps before a contract, and legitimate interest.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Cookies
The Site sets no cookies that identify you, and none that need your consent. Third party content we embed, such as a video player or a code repository widget, may set its own cookies under that provider’s policy.
4. Services we use
We do not share, sell or trade personal data with anyone. To run the Site we use a small number of hosting, infrastructure and email services, and they process data only on our behalf, only to provide that service, and under a data processing agreement. We choose services that publish their own security and privacy commitments, and we can tell you which ones we use if you email us.
We may disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety. If Causis is acquired or merges, personal data may transfer to the new owner under the same protections.
5. International transfers
Causis is based in the United States. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, your data is transferred to the US. Where a service we use processes data outside your region, the transfer is covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the service is certified.
6. How long we keep data
Only as long as the purpose in section 2 needs. Server logs 30 days, demo inputs up to 12 months, email correspondence up to two years, applicant and partner material up to 24 months after the discussion ends. We keep data longer only where the law requires it.
7. Your rights
If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland you have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to restrict or object to how we process it, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. You can complain to your local data protection authority; in the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
If you are a California resident you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@causisresearch.com. We will answer within 30 days and may ask you to confirm your identity first.
8. Security
We use access controls, encryption in transit and the security measures of the services we use. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise that data will never be accessed without authorisation. If a breach affects you, we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
9. Children
The Site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will say so on the Site.
